A BIT ABOUT
DEAN hassell...

IMG_7057.jpg

Hi, I'm Dean Hassell, the creative force behind Dean Hassell Media. I picked up a camera at 16 and shot my first wedding soon after, igniting a passion for capturing unforgettable moments. Over the years, I’ve honed my craft, working on film productions and immersing myself in the worlds of LARP and cosplay—two hobbies that fuel my creativity and love for storytelling.

In 2022, I formed Dean Hassell Media to bring my photography and videography services to a wider audience. Whether it’s a wedding, a cosplay shoot, or a LARP adventure, I approach every project with dedication and enthusiasm, bringing a unique perspective to each moment. Based in High Wycombe, I’m here to capture your story with passion, creativity, and a professional touch.

Alongside my work as a photographer and videographer, I’ve also worked on my own productions. One of my proudest achievements was creating a short film with a budget of just £600. Despite the limited budget, I was able to produce a project I’m truly proud of, even managing to organise a private screening at Pinewood Studios. This experience taught me the value of creativity, resourcefulness, and the power of storytelling, skills that I bring to every shoot and project I work on.

As a passionate individual with a deep drive to capture and preserve life’s special moments, I’m committed to ensuring that your memories are cherished forever. I use the Canon 1DX MK II to capture stunning, high-quality images and videos with incredible detail and precision. I'm also able to provide my own lighting and rigs, I’m able to create the perfect setup for every shoot, whether it's photography or videography, and a full suite of editing tools. With expertise in Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom, I provide comprehensive editing services to ensure your photos and videos are polished to perfection, making sure every detail shines in the final product.

Outside of work, I’m a dedicated LARPer and an enthusiastic D&D player. Fantasy is a cornerstone of my life—why settle for this world when you can immerse yourself in realms full of magic and monsters? This love for storytelling and world-building drives my creativity and inspires every project I take on.

One of my ultimate dreams is to one day create a film that could rival The Lord of the Rings (a near-impossible feat, I know, but isn’t that what dreams are for?). Until then, I channel my passion for cinema and fantasy into every project I work on, striving to bring my clients' visions to life with the same sense of wonder and awe that inspired me to pursue this path.
